We, my partner and I, were downgraded from Prem Econ to Econ on a long flight from LGW to Montego Bay Jamaica last Sunday. This is so frustrating as it is clearly a deliberate commercial policy, which I regard as insulting as they have had the fare since Asugust and it is part of a Virgin Holiday! Anyway, we refused the compensation as I didn't know my rights and wanted to check them before I fought my corner. Can I assume the that the EU statute still exists and I am entitled to 75% of the fare all be it one way as I seem to be flying home in the correct class? The whole affair stinks as their whole approach is completely disingenuous, to us at the point of sale, then offering lousy compensation. Further there seemed to be no automatic refund of the difference in lost fare nor any method of formal all apology, audit etc. do they think I'm going to forget?
