I have to agree with you, Bazza76. I find it very unfriendly that auto filters remove reviews without advising the reviewer that his review was taken down. In the past, this happened only when reviewers did not click on the verification email within the allotted time (usually seven days).
I had confirmed reviews disappeared in thin air too. I raised the issue twice in the Help Us Make Tripadvisor Better, but it seems that nothing has been done as I still read about verified reviews that end up in limbo land.
It's an old issue and one that it appears TA has not yet resolved. I think I brought it up twice in the HUMTAB already:
The process should be clear: one submits a review, if the review is rejected or removed from the site, let us know. Just as a matter of courtesy. Mind you, I had one (good) review removed after having been published for months, without notice, for a property that is still listed and did not change owners. I noticed by chance.
Do contact TA though. It is the only way to know what happened with your review.
