Hi all. I am planning a trip with my wife and some of our closest friends, all between 27-30 years old. I was looking for someone who was recently at BRB to answer some quick questions for me. Thanks in advance:

1. How is the buffet? We like to try new Carribean styled meals, but also like to have some "safe" Americanized meals as well. How would you rate the buffet?

2. Availability of Jerk Chicken? I am addicted to this stuff. Can I only get it at lunch?

3. Late Night Snacking? Is there anything available? They make it sound like it is just cold sandwhiches, etc.

4. Overall Feel of the place? We have some people that tend to party more and other who prefer to be reserved and do activities...since we have couples and singles going, we wanted to get feedback on if this is a couples only type resort? I am sure anywhere wll be dominated by couples, but just looking for a general consensus.

Thanks for your help!

We just got back from the Brezzes, was not a good experience. The entire time we were there we had to continue to ask for towels and face clothes. Call front desk and housekeeping and it took them until 9:00 pm to get them. One day we did not get them at all, so I had to walk down to the pool and get them from there. Bad experence. Some of the people that were with our group did not get their rooms until 7:00 pm. It was not good at all.

Hi,

I have stayed at BRB several times and never had any problems....if I did, they were minor and were easily fixed.

I thought the food was pretty good, always a choice of Jamaican and American and plenty to fill you! The jerk chicken is excellent at the grill during the day, can't get it in the evening. Snacks are hard to come by late night....might want to bring some along.

The Munasan Japanese restaurant and the startlight grill are excellent...I have never tried the Italian restaurant.

The nightlife can be fun, it depends on the crowd staying there at the time..the shows are very good and the disco can be fun, if, like I said, the crowd is that type that week!!

I think you and your friends will enjoy your stay there...that is always where I will return and am in fact in September and again in January of 09.

We also just returned from an 11 day stay at BRB, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Met some great people, and the staff were excellent, no problems at all. The buffet can get a little boring after a few days, but we would alternate that by using the Reggae Cafe for lunch some days. Excellent jerk chicken and pork, patties, Gunga peas and rice and wonderful Coco bread at the Reggae. Nightime at the buffet, there was always a carving station, with prime rib, turkey, roast beef and pork. The only thing I didn`t like was not much seafood, or tropical fruits. You will see lots of singles there, and age groups from 20s to 70s. All in all, I would go back in a heartbeat

Hi,

We returned from a 10 day stay on June 21.

It was our first All Inclusive experience and we all liked it a lot. My husband and sons SCUBA and my husband went almost every day. We also play tennis and took lessons and played with the pro's on several days.

Overall we were happy with the food, though only ate at the regular buffet for dinner a few times. The Italian restuarant is formal and the food was good but most of us had steaks and not Italian. We liked the Sushi a lot and ate at the Japanese, which is like a Bennihana. Our favorite was the Starlight which is like a mongolian BBQ. They also tried to change things up by doing the buffet by the pool once and on the beach once.

We were never up late enough, but my sons would eat at the "drunk man's buffet" that they put out around 12:30am.

The couples were more apparant while we were there but I know there were singles. I think they had a singles gathering.

If we were to visit jamaica again we would stay at BRB.

Breezes is rated #1 in Runaway Bay.

It's a lot of fun with something to do all day. It also has quiet spots to relax.

It's perfect for your age group.

Please consider the reviews of the people who have gone multiple times and post more than once a quarter.

My wife and I have been there 5 times over the past 6 years, obviously we love it there.

My brother is single and has been on all of the trips with us. He is usually disappointed by the low numbers of singles. It definitely attracts more couples than singles. I would imagine that singles are more attracted to Hedo III where there is usually a more active nightlife/party scene. BRB can be a bit slow at night (with the exception of PJ and toga nights).

I will be returing there in October.

This will be my 5th or 6th time back. I always go once a year.

I have also stayed at Grand Lido Braco a few years back......Love Breezes more.

Food, Service, & Feel of the place is wonderful.

Hi Kje,

I agree with most of the others... BRB is a FABULOUS resort... I've been several times myself and I will be returning again this fall also.

The buffet is very good. Lots of choices both local and international. I'm sure you'll always find something you'll enjoy and salads/cheeses/breads etc. are always fabulous.

Jerk chicken is available throughout the day and often at the midnight snack as well... Ivan (the grill chef) is reknowned for his Jerk Sauce, you'll be in "jerk heaven" ! lol

The midnight snack is a "scaled down" buffet, not just cold sandwickes. Not "tons" of items but definately enough for a midnight snack.

You're absolutely right that ALL resorts are frequented mostly by couples however BRB is actually one of the most popular resorts in Jamaica for single travellers. The property is large and spread out enough that you'll always be able to find quiet/romantic places while others enjoy a more social setting. Typically the pool bar, lobby bar and later the disco are the "social" areas. There's also a small "jungle area" with hammocks to find some privacy, a "reading sanctuary in the gardens, a "hidden jacuzzi" in another garden...

Blessings and respect to you, ENJOY !

Steve
