Family friendly all inclusive?

Just desperate to find a non-smoking friendly place to take our son.

I read that some public beaches in San Juan prohibit smoking so I thought we'd give this location a try.

Any suggestions? Pretty high budget, just looking for kid friendly, but smaller, quieter, healthier----

There are no all inclusives.

There is no smoking allowed inside buildings in PR, so this is not a problem.

El Conquistador Resort is a good family option, nice water park, good beach and many pools to enjoy. It is not all inclusive but has many small restaurants and good dinning restaurants options.

Smoking is prohibited in closed areas, so no smoking inside restaurants, shops and others. But in open areas, like beach, pool, and street it is allowed.

St. Regis Bahia Resrve in Dorado, gets high remarks on being environmental councious so this could be another option.

PR is part of the US and has basically the same laws as you do in Wisconsin. No smoking indoors where folks are employed. Smoking is allowed outside. That includes streets and the beach. I would be much more worried about auto exhaust and power plants than someone smoking on the beach. The only thing I can think of would be going to Culebra or Vieques. There are some deserted beach that you could find yourself alone on.

The Wyndham Rio Mar just introduced an All Inclusive option. The resort is kid friendly and as a militant non smoker, I never noticed a problem there. The new AI program is the only one that I know of on the island though I am not sure how its program compares to other AI offerings. AI's are not common in PR because the best dining and attractions available in PR are all over the island unlike many places where few dining or activities are available or safe off resort.

Thank you. We will probably end up renting a private home as we are doing next month in Florida. For half the price of a hotel we can at least be smoke free in a swimming pool and while dining on the patio. Thank goodness for Airbnb! Hope some hotels take the hint and cash in on this niche market of non-smokers!

You can easily find condos for rent here, but not houses for rent. And in a condo there will be no one stopping anyone from smoking at the pool.

There's really not much smoking around here. And remember if anyone ever smokes by the beach/pool the trade winds blow the smoke away. It will not be a problem.
