Hi,I enjoy reading this board with all the knowledgable people here responding to questions. I would like to know what month is the water the calmest? I would prefer to travel to Provo in the months when there is little to no waves. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I will be traveling sometime next year. Thanks and hava a great day.

You will love it and so will she. As you can tell the one thing we all have in common here is the addiction to this paradise where there is no such thing as a bad time. Just relax and enjoy and the weather just doesn't matter in Provo., and I am sure you will agree when you return.

Enjoy!!!!

Carib Joe,

The first part of November is my favorite time to dive. No crowds, calm water, and the water temp is about as warm as it is going to get all year.

Now that's a positive review. How far are the boat rides and will most of the dive operators take you to the better places? We dove in Grand Turk and found the diving some of the best in the Caribbean. Does the diving here compare?

We were there 2 weeks in July a few years ago and Grace Bay was so calm my husband swam back and forth from the Sands to the dock at Beaches every day. Loved it.

Can anyone comment on conditions in May. I've heard good and bad things, were going May 6-13?

Our first year (2006) we went in June and the water was perfect! Very calm and warm. Last year we went in May and the week we went, there was some weird stuff going on in the ocean (not sure if anyone else remembers), but our first two days was very calm and then the third morning we woke up and saw white caps on the ocean from our balcony. We got to the beach and it was so rough. Even the employees at OCW said they had never seen anything like it. No one was in the water. This lasted for the next THREE days! We had to hang by the pool - the weather was great. Finally, the last two days we were there it calmed back down. We finally got to do a little snorkeling.

We are going back this May - hopefully the water and weather are perfect.

We were in Provo in May for ten days last year, and the weather was not very nice. We had sun the first two days, then showers and cloud cover for the remainder of our trip. The couple from whom we rented the villa, told us that if we returned, not to choose May, as, according to them, that was typical weather for that time of year. They live on island, so I am thinking that they should know.
