Puerto Morales from Cancun

Hello,

Entertainment plus has a bus only trip to PM from Cancun for only 10 bucks...Is PM worth say a half day just playing tourist/beach ( no snorkeling )? Just wanted to do something a little different....Any other tips about PM would be appreciated. Thanks...

We just got back from 8 days in PoMo as the locals call it. It's a nice quiet Mexican town much like PdC was 20 years ago they say. It was our second stay there as we prefer it's laid-back more rustic ambience. There are many good restaurants in town near the main square. Good used bookstore. Beach is good for swimming. It gets more windy for some reason in this area than other RM beach towns it seems so good for kiteboarding.

biged...we were staying in the hotel zone so we took the R bus to centro then took the ADO bus for $3 to PM. the transportation was great but we did snorkel with almost heaven tours out of the ceiba del mar hotel. after snorkeling we walked around town but there wasn't much at all when we were there over christmas. i don't know if it is worthwhile just going to PoMo for half a day if you don't plan on snorkeling. for us, there wasn't much to do in PoMo...an hour for us tops but half a day for us was too much without snorkeling.

great little town to kill a day. was there in july. very laid back. a dozen or so tiny shops like at the flea market in cancun but not so pushy. excellent beachside restaurants. if you have downtime i'd definetly make the trip

We stopped there last year and had lunch at a restaurant called La Panza es Primero. It was a recommendation from a local and it didn't disappoint! I will admit, had I just read about it in a guidebook, I would have kept on walking. It has a wrestling theme - you know, like WWF or whatever that is. But actually that added to its charm. The food was simply to die for. Authentic, delicious all the way! Margaritas were fresh (no canned mixers) and the service was outstanding. We're planning a trip back to PM from the hotel zone just to eat there again. Definitely give it a try!

Catch the bus at the main bus terminal. It was 1.80 last year one way I think. Can't remember if was both ways but get your return ticket at the main bus station. When you get off it's $2.00 for the taxi to the water. Not worth the walk, hot & narrow road. 1 1/2 miles.
