Do all rooms at the Royal Sands Hotel have an ocean view? If not, how does one get an ocean view?
James S., Are are going to The Royal Sands in a couple of weeks. Yes all rooms have an ocean view. I'm sure some may be a little better view but all have a view. Enjoy, Linda
Correct all have ocean view. And there are at least 50 with that are ocean front. If you don't get oceanfront the the higher floor the better. There are some rooms located right behind the ocean front rooms and the view isn't great but you can still see ocean. Phase I is the best secton. And all the main pool activities are held on this side. You will love the Royal Sands.
Please look at the 1st picture of the RS gallery:

That tells it all.
Edited: 9 years agoYes, the layout shows the 'U' or horseshoe shape... all rooms face forward. So all should have at least a limited Ocean View.
I am not sure how you booked, but when one is booking directly thru the Royal Resorts, or perhaps when one is renting a specific unit thru an owner, then you can get Ocean Front.
If this option is not available to you, perhaps you can ask about upgrading when you arrive?
If you can not get Ocean Front, of course a floor, maybe 4th floor or higher, will get you to where your view is not as obstructed.
Phase I is the larger and busier side. this will be the more crowded pool area, where any activities will be going on.
We actually liked the idea of our room being on the quieter, Phase II, side. And, while it is always lovely to have a good view, we also told them a nice convenient walk-out patio would be nice. We really enjoyed our ground floor walk-out patio (building K in phase II)
We had a wonderful time!
If you are only booking a hotel room (lock off) the balcony is small. If you book a 1 bedroom suite or two bedroom then the balconies are huge all with great views.

Wishing, I've been a *member* for over 20 years, and I find that a number of your posts re. the Royal Resorts are either inaccurate, or incorrect. Not picking on you, but just trying to keep things real. Could you please explain your statement, copied above?
*PS No such thing as a Royal Resorts "owner". We own nothing. Anyone that claims they "own" time, will have as much difficulty convincing rational people that they own space or temperature. No more a RR owner than a health club owner, Sam's club owner, or frequent flyer owner. You get my drift.

Since Wishing chose not to explain their statement, I'll take the opportunity to clarify.
The Royal Resorts are interval membership, guaranteed villa, guaranteed week. They are not hotels. This means members have use of a specific villa(s) for the specific week(s) they purchased. Example: John Doe purchased weeks 9 & 10 at the Royal Sands, villa # B1234. If John Doe chooses to use their villa, they only need to show up weeks 9 & 10, and villa B1234 will be vacant and ready for them to occupy. Or, if John can't make it, and does not deposit his villa with the resort, or rent it out to someone, villa B1234 will remain vacant weeks 9 & 10, and is *NOT available to the resort or anyone else*. It remains vacant. This happens every week, in many units at all of the Royal Resorts, believe it or not.
Therefore, specific villas can only be available to the Royal Resorts if they were deposited to them directly by members, or they were taken over by the resort through membership forfeiture/default. For this reason, it is not accurate to suggest "when one is booking directly thru the Royal Resorts, or perhaps when one is renting a specific unit thru an owner, then you can get Ocean Front". That would only be possible if the Resort had control of a beachfront villa during a specific week. When you rent from the resort, you generally get what you get, in whatever villa happens to be in control of the resort, and vacant. You could request beachfront, and theoretically get one, if you were very lucky. Or, if you happen to find a member that has a beachfront, and is willing to rent their villa for the week you want it. Bottom line, again, it's not a hotel where rooms can be shuffled and prioritized.
