Has anyone seen the Isla bus in service recently? Last month I read that service was sporadic at best.

I saw it several times when I was there the beginning of February.

Not sure lately, but I heard it had broken down and was in Cancun for repairs at one time, sounds like Rick's info may be more current.

Saw it parked yesterday on Medina on the south end. Not sure if it was in service.

It has been back in service. It did have a flat tire one day this week, but we have been riding it.

Thanks everyone.

Do we need to pre-purchase trip tickets or do we pay cash when we board? If it's the latter, do we pay the driver or is there a farebox and we deposit directly in it?

You pay directly to the driver. Round trip is 10 pesos or 5 pesos one way. One week ago i did the round trip circuit 10 pesos ,I ask the driver if there was a card for all the day,the answer,no.

Well, that is interesting. I have never paid more than 5 pesos. Did a round trip plus about 2 weeks ago, but only paid 5. Maybe because we ride quite often?
