A few of my un-favorite things.....for fun! |
|
Just for fun, not trying to ruffle any feathers, but here are a couple of things that tick me off! Hotel reviews that go on and on about “towel art” esp. those that whine because they didn’t get towel art in their rooms…… aargh! Hotel reviews with pics of towel art……double aargh! Folks, seriously it’s just a towel! Hotel reviews with pics that amount to nothing more than their own family album, hey I want to see pictures of the resort (rooms, grounds, and beach). Your really cute and all but one pic of you would suffice, I would really rather see the resort. Drive by posters, those that post something salacious and never appear again. They just put out some crazy comment, they just manage to get everyone else’s blood a boiling and poof their gone! Yours? |

I don't mind the pics of towel art and people but yes, I too like pics of the grounds, resort, and beach better. Don't like the fake reviews or the nasty ones from a first time/only time poster or someone who hasn't done their homework, only to choose the wrong resort for themselves and try to blame the resort for their horrible vacation.
|
....Or reviewers that have a real ATTITUDE & think that the resort has to "bow down" to their every whim
|
can't stand people who write bad reviews for the most idiotic reasons ---- it was one of the funnier disgruntled reviews i've read recently where the person was pissed that the employees of the resort didn't speak english very well---hello!!! u chose to go to mexico LOL... or the bad review where the person was mad there were teens having fun late at nite---it was disturbing them , awwww... EVERYONE is there to have fun-it's not like they had to get up early to go to work the next day... meantime they never said anything about the beautiful beach, the pool, the food, the booze etc...

I'm ok with the photos of towel art. It's the reviews (or rather, reviewers) who start off 'we've stayed at 5 stars around the world and this place is not at all a 5 star like the ones we've stayed at in our extensive travels because....', forgetting that a 5 star in one country is not the same type of hotel as a 5 star in other countries (and neither are the prices!!)

My most unfavorite thing; When I get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. It's dark and I'm trying to find my bearings. First I walk into a wall, stub my toe on furniture cause I don't "know the way" like at home. Finally get to my destination, can't find the lite switch, sit down - only to land in a hard wet bowl. cause the husband ---leaves the seat up. Men just won't get this, but the ladies will. Yeah, towel art doesn't do it for me either. First time I saw it it was cute and appreciate the effort from the staff. Do like the family shots though. Like seeing people having a good time. It's sunrises and sunset pictures that perplex me. I know they are always much better while on vacation but jeeze they happen everyday. Seen some photo albums where 1/2 of the pictures are of the sun setting. Don't really get it. But hey, I have yet to put together a trip report with photo's, so if I have to look at umpteen sun rises to get to the good stuff so be it.

I really hate it when all the staff members at your resort smile, say hola! and work really hard to make sure you have a great vacation. I can't stand the beautifully manicured grounds, the spotlessly clean rooms, or the endless supply of cold beverages in the mini-fridge and at the bars. The equally endless supply of food outrages me. Then, for cripes sake, if you don't care for your ala carte meal at an AI, the waiters have the nerve to ask if you'd prefer something else instead. What is up with that kind of attitude. The white sand is too sandy, the pools are too clean and too numerous, and -- to top it all off -- the sun shines. Tortuous, really.

What I get a laugh out of when people complain about about the heat and/or rain. Its Mother Nature, not the resorts fault, people should read the weather before picking the time they travel, summer time versus huriccane season. Also I think when people travel to Mexico they expect the food to be just like the US, not, it is a different country. I would say to many people expect first class, top notch service, food, resorts, etc. when they book at a lower or middle place. Old saying " You get what you pay for!" You can enjoy any where if you have the right attitude.

Ok--I have 3 things that annoy me! 1) When people ask is it really hot in the open air restaurants? And are there bugs flying around? Well, you just know what kind of vacation they'll have. 2) I so get annoyed when people complain about sea grass in the ocean. IT"S THE SEA! That's why they call it sea grass. What's worse is that they blame the resort for it's existence. Look people, it can't be cleaned up until it reaches the shore. I guess they expect the employees to stand out in the water with a net and go "fishing" for sea grass. 3) I don't care for right-fighters. Those that feel the need to defend a resort until their dying day. What pleases some, doesn't please others. When you read those blood boiling reviews, just shake your head and smack your head against the keyboard a couple of times...then move on.

I think if I was to sit on the toilet in the dark and get the shock of the big white bowl then maybe after doing this 2 or 3 times I think i would have learnt my lesson & teach myself to check 1st & if that seat is up then lower it. Its not rocket science. Its not hard. We lift the seats b/c we can be a bit wayward with our flow (sometimes mine goes in 2 directions at once, to be discussed on another thread) so to save you sitting on pee-pee thats what we do. How come you dont leave the seat up for us? I hate going the bathroom & having to reach all the way down to lift that seat up, such a chore. I gave the resort a bad review b/c my plane was late & the meal on the flight was not quite hot enough. Life is good. ITS LLT.
