I know that Sandos does, they respond to and answer questions. I'm would bet some of the others do as well.

Most definately. It is free feedback.

Resorts would be foolish to ignore TA. It is free advertisement at best, whether negative or positive.

Sandos hasnt replied in quite a while. I know of others that always monitor and reply to posts. Funny thing happened last week, I had an email regarding a very old thread. last Sept(07) I placed a post regarding my experience with a shuttle service in Paris, guess who took the time to respond...better late than never I guess! :o) :o)

I know a few of the smaller hotels certainly do. Not so sure about the mega resorts though.

I asked at this at several resorts and the answer is YES. It's done by management so the check-in person maybe clueless about TA. Like the advice given here, maybe they take them with a grain of salt.

While spending much time in the guest relations office at the Iberostar Del Mar this past June, we did see Tripadvisor pages opened on a regular basis.

There were also several printouts on the desk of the Public Relations Manager. Perhaps they use them for making paper airplanes when boredom sets in. They certainly don't respond to letters.
