Unlike Vancouver or Montreal there does not appear to be a guide book I can buy for Winnipeg.
Of all the guide books for Canada, which would you recommend which has the best coverage of Winnipeg?
Thank you for your help.

I don't know any particular books that include Winnipeg, but if you want to do on-line research, you could go to www.destinationwinnipeg.ca
It's the tourism site for the city.
I'd also recommend the Travel manitoba Site at http://www.travelmanitoba.com/. They'll have a bunch of info for whatever you're lookign for. Apparently we're just not exciting enough a city to rate a guidebook! happy travels
Thank you for the websites, they look good.
But for those of you who are not from Winnipeg - which guide book did you most like?
Hi,
If you go to the Destination Winnipeg website destinationwinnipeg.ca, they have a good Visitor's Guide that has good info in it; no unbiased reviews but lots of info about everything a guidebook would have (except I don't think it has hotels so you'll have to do that part online). You can download the book or if you email them and ask very nicely they might send you one. Their email is here:

Here is the guide:
destinationwinnipeg.ca/uploads/…DES_VG09.pdf
If they won't send it to you let me know and I'll get you one and mail it to you if you message me your address. When are you coming here?
Also this Canada guidebook has a decent little section on Winnipeg but it's only a few pages.
amazon.co.uk/Canada-DK-Eyewitness-Travel-Gui…
Hope that helps.
Adding on..... I see you can order kits to be mailed to you from Travel Manitoba; while not just Winnipeg they will include some Winnipeg info:
travelmanitoba.com/TableMenu/…14
You probably want the "General Vacation Kit"
When you order the kit it includes a section for Comments; you could ask in there if they would be willing to also include a Destination Winnipeg "Fresh Winnipeg" visitor's guide, they might throw one in, you never know. They should have access to it.
Thank you very much for your kind offer Sherry
I have contacted the Winnipeg Tourist board and have now received the Fresh Winnipeg, Taste Winnipeg and accommodation guide, so we are all set.
We are coming in a couple of years' time - we are saving to see the polar bears in Churchill too.
Glad to hear they were able to send you everything! Good luck with the planning.
