Has anyone attended a wedding at Gosfield Hall? The venue looks stunning on their web site and am wondering if the food and service live up to how it looks.

Sorry, can't help, although it's only 10 miles from me

I think you have to visit wedding venues to get a feel for the place, even if it takes time. You'll only do it once (hopefully!), after all. And it's a good excuse for some nice weekends away, "researching" ;-)

Reviews here are good, but you have to allow for the "just married, gushing" factor....

Hi OJOB,

My wedding was at Gosfield Hall in sept 2005, it was an amazing day, the venue is beautiful, the staff and service were faultless, and food was fantastic. The bridal suite was out of this world! My guests still compliment our wedding to this day. We booked through whirlwind weddings who offer a last minute package(only 6 weeks notice) so we had a bargain too.

I hope the venue still lives up to the standard we experienced in 2005, as we'd love to book an anniversary party there one day.

We got married there last November and it was such an experience. Emma looked after us from the minute we arrived to the minute we left the next morning.

The food was fantastic for the wedding breakfast and the evening buffet was enormous, enough for everyone to go around 3 or 4 times and the food was well cooked and presented professionally.

The service from the staff was outstanding, very polite and helpful.

My 40+ guests who attended and stayed over could not believe how great it all was, no complaints at all.

I would reccomend Gosfield Hall to everyone who wants to be pampered and feel like a royal - go for it.

If not the King's Head opposite used to serve great food, although it looks like a new landlord has taken over.

There are some B&B suggestions on their site as well.

Yes, yes, yes! I attended Gosfield Hall as a guest on the 26th of May '09 and I found the venue to be fab. The wedding only consisted of around 100 guests and the venue held them all comfortably between the bar, the dancefloor and the lovely, peaceful grounds outside.

The food was also worthy of special mention as I've never had Lamb so wonderfully juicy, tender, and tasty. Also, if you're a fan of red wine, Gosfield Hall serves it's own branded South Australian red that is so gorgeous I had to drink copious amounts of it!

The staff were very attentive, offering drinks to people before they had even finished their first drink. The front of house manager/Master/Mistress of ceremonies on the day was Emma. From what the groom told me, I believe there is more planners and Front of house managers who assist with the planning and execution of the wedding but I don't think you could go far wrong with requesting Emma. She is a beautiful, friendly, down to earth person who certainly helped ensure that the guest's day was as memorable for them as it was for the bride and groom.

Obviously the building itself is stunning too and had I not been married on a rainy day i Scotland 7 years ago, i'd certainly have considered this venue very strongly.

I hope I've helped, best of luck and congratulations if you're on the verge of marriage yourself. I hope your day goes well no matter where you choose to have it.

Cheers,

Peter.
