Looking for nice caravan site with static vans!

Hi,

Can anyone help? We are looking for a family caravan site in the lakes. Where we can hire a static van.

Have never visited before so if anyone could give some advice it would be appriciated.

It's just for myself, hubby and our son who will be 2!

Thanks for reading.

Hi,

We recently went to Croft Caravan park in Hawkshead. Site was nice, not much on site with regards to clubhouse etc and no park. Everyone was very friendly, lovely location very quiet. Just a two minute stroll into the village of Hawkshead itself which, for me, is one of the best villages in the lakes.

Choice of 4 pubs, Queens Head - ate & drank in here and can recommend both, food very good. Kings Arms - same as before and these will do take away chips too - no chippy in town!

Overall i'd recommend both the site and village, in fact we'll be going back. One thing to note, the caravan we stayed in wasn't particularly a new one but it was fine enough for us but not sure what you'd expect. They do have a deluxe range which are perhaps just newer.

Hope this helps

Hi Whitecross Bay is nice. It is in between Ambleside and Windermere on the A591 so you would ideally need car. We find it a great location though to get around. We have a static there (we don't hire it out though). On site there is a small play area, an indoor swimming pool, a clubhouse with restaurant and a Marina with plenty of hungry ducks to feed! You can therefore walk down to The Lake and take in the views. There is also a large picnic area there. We love it. It We have had our caravan for over 2 years and are certainly not bored with the location.

They do have a website http://www.slholidays.co.uk/White-Cross-Bay

Hope this helps

South Lakeland Parks hire out caravans at Limefitt. A lot of private owners also rent out pine lodges there - see http://www.limefitt.com for more details.
