I'm trying to plan a trip to Kew Gardens for today, using TFL's Journey Planner, starting from Victoria station. I know that there are a quite a few track/station closures, due to this being the weekend. The results that it is giving me are a tad confusing so I was wondering if any of you could help shed some light.
I was thinking of taking the Victoria line to one of the stops where it looks like the London Overground connects (Blackhorse Road or Highbury & Islington), then taking the Overground to Kew Gardens. That route does not come up as an option with TFL's Journey Planner. At first, I thought it was due to a closure on the Overground at Willesden Junction. However, if I change my starting point to one of the stops serviced only by the Overground, sunce as Gospel Oak or South Tottenham, Journey Planner shows a direct route to Kew Gardens with no stops.
Why would Journey Planner show this so differently? Is there a reason it won't recommend the Overground if the stop you select is serviced by the Underground?
So, long story short, is it not possible to connect to the London Overground at stations like Blackhorse Road?
