Hi guys,

Anyone recommend a cheap-ish hotel for a one night stay in Nov....? There are four adults, looking for something in the city centre near the pubs etc.

Already checked the Travel Lodge, Ibis & Travel Inn, but as usual on a Rugby weekend, all are booked up!!!

Any suggestions welcome...

Cheers in advance.

Emma :)

try the Big Sleep, we always use it if we can get a room for an overnight stay. Reasonably priced & good location

We stayed in the Etap for a hen night recently - walking distance from the stadium and st marys st. Basic, small rooms, but cheap, so if you just want to sleep there it's a good deal. Rooms sleep 2 or 3 (double with single bunk over it!) and cost £45 when an event is on (or £35 earlier). Might be worth a try as we got in on the night of a neil diamond concert when the travel lodge was already full (although it was booked up by the night).

Cardiff is not fully booked for that weekend yet though lots of the cheaper hotels have gone, Superbreak are still showing rooms at various prices so it would probably be worth trying the b + b 's in Cathedral road, search this forum for suggested ones.

Cheers for all your replies... If Cardiff is not fully booked that weekend, it certainly seems like it!!!

Even though some websites like booking.com and hotels.co.uk were showing availability, as soon as I tried to book a hotel, it then said the rooms were gone! :(

So decided to ditch the cheap option and splash out, we have booked a nights stay at the Park Plaza, have booked direct with the hotel and as it is for a friends brithday, they said they may be able to sort some drinks etc upon arrival, which I thought was a nice touch.

Once again, cheers for your suggestions..

The Future Inns is a really nice hotel near cardiff bay and not too far from the city centre either. Has free parking - which is very useful if your driving down. The rooms are really clean and well presented and good size if 4 of you staying in same room. worth a look
