Hotel room for family of 4 required - reasonably priced!
Save

Hi,

Posting this for a friend who is travelling to Inverness at the beginning of April for a wedding.

She's looking for a reasonably priced hotel room that will suit two adults and her two kids, aged 7 and 12.

The wedding is at the Drumossie House Hotel (their rate would be over £300 for the two nights (too expensive) so a hotel somewhere near to that would be useful.

Alternatively, the hotel could be near to the train station.

Any help much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Holiday Inn Express could give them a room for up to £75 for all of them for one night including continental breakfast. I have stayed in their hotels in Stoke and Bolton and found both to be basic but clean and good value for money. Don't know how close that is to Drumossie but Inverness is not a big city so the taxi fare shouldn't be too expensive.

Try the Raigmore Motel, Old Perth Road, Inverness - 01463 221546 or Premier Travel Inn (Inshes Gate), Inverness - 0870-197 7142

These are both about 2 miles from Drumossie Hotel, and about 1.5 miles from the town centre. As there is a taxi rank right outside the railway station both Raigmore Motel and Inshes Gate are about a 5 minute taxi ride.

There are also numerous B&B's in Inverness, try this web site for ideas.

I stayed at the Premier Travel Inn in the business park on the edge of Inverness a few years back - it was great though you'd need a car to get anywhere from here. I think there's another one closer to town and also a couple of Travelodges which are also a budget chain, though not usually as good as Travel Inn, or the Holiday Inn Express where breakfast is included in the price. The big plus with these budget chains is the fact that they charge per room and can accomodate a couple of children under sixteen for no extra cost.

cheers

They could try Moyness House- I stayed there and it was absolutely lovely. It's near the train station (5 minutes by taxi) in the middle of Inverness. Their rates are pretty good for such a nice place and you get a yummy breakfast too. They have their own website so your friend can check out the rates etc. http://www.moyness.co.uk/index.shtml

Westbourne Guest House has a family room for four. They may also be able to fit in a cot in a room for three.

We loved this place and will stay there again. It is on the River Ness, (cute ducks for your kids to feed) near the pedestrian bridge to walk to the train station and the castle. The location and price cannot be beat. Very family friendly. We were able to walk everywhere with our two year-old. The host, Richard, is very helpful and accommodating. The rooms are comfortable, with fridges, albeit a little utilitarian. They also have internet access.

The Royal Highland Hotel is right next to the station http://www.royalhighlandhotel.co.uk they often have deals on, though heading for Easter as has been suggested the Travel Inn at Inches is the closet to the Drumossie

I booked a Travelodge room for the Loch Ness Marathon in October at £26 a night.

Don't know what dates in April you are looking for, but just searched for 1st April & found the rate for that night is £15 !!!!
