While staying in Sixmilebridge the end of May, we drove over to Cahir to see the castle and the Swiss Cottage. I was so disappointed to find out that the Swiss Cottage was closed and that it will be for the rest of the year. They are fixing the roof and the bridge that leads to it over the river. I haven't done the balance of my trip report yet, but thought I should mention this in case anyone else had any interest in it.

What a pity that you made that wasted journey. Thanks for alerting us to that. The website says Closed Until Further Notice, but I did not know about it until you told me.

Thanks for the information. On the positive side, that's one less thing to see in the area.

The drive wasn't wasted, but I was disappointed about the cottage. We drove south from Cahir and made the beautiful trip over the Knockmealdown Mts to Lismore. There is a beautiful lake at the top of the "Vee" that we hiked down to see - it was so unbelievably beautiful.
