My wife and I are going to Ireland this December, and we want to find some good restaurants. We enjoy bistro style eating, no frills, but great food. We'll be visiting Kilkenny, Dublin, Killarney, Dingle and Kinsale. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hi there, the Chart House in Dingle is not exactly "bistro style" but it serves very good food (http://www.charthousedingle.com/).

In Kinsale I like the White House (http://www.kinsale.ie/whithous.htm), I mean the pub part rather than the proper restaurant. But there are so many good places to choose from!

I am sure you will get lots of recommendations for all the towns you're going to visit.

The Chart House was the second best restaurant we ate at in Ireland (with Vaughan's Anchor Inn in Liscannor the best).

There was a feisty discussion going on about restaurants in Dingle:

Some_tips_about_Restaurants_in_the_Dingle_Peninsula-Dingle_Dingle_Peninsula_County_Kerry.html

Unfortunately, it's two long for me to paste the entire post address here.

Be prepared for the shock to your wallet. Our Chart House dinner for two and a half cost over $100.
