Needing some suggestions please.
Flying to Munich and arriving Friday morning, October 12.
Plan to catch the train to Salzburg the following morning and then return to Munich for a day and a half on the tail end of our vacation.
I believe that the 1.5 days on the tail end will be enough for us to see all we want in Munich as I've researched it thoroughly. My husband would really like to see some small towns in Bavaria and I'm wondering if the day we arrive might be a good way to do that.
As we want to see Dachau CC, I wondered if the town had much else to offer and if we should just stay there overnight, head to Salzburg the next day. Not sure if this is a good idea in terms of the town and in terms of travel logistics.
My other idea was to head to Freising from the airport and then again, leave for Salzburg the next day. Again, not sure if this makes sense...nor if the town has enough to offer for one full day and an overnight stay. We are most interested in Bavarian charm...museums are not big on the list, but an attraction or two wouldn't hurt.
I confess to being ignorant on the region. I have not found a map yet that seems to be helpful. I would love to hear someone's thoughts on those two towns and am very open to suggestions on other towns that might be on the way and a better place to stay for an overnight.
