Can anyone plese tell me if the Hotel Villa Santa Maria, Amalfi (Not Villa Maria Ravello) will be easy to reach by public bus? It looks really lovely but I dont know if we will be stranded as we wont be driving during the trip. There doesnt seem to be any reviews on this place, does anyone know it? Thanks in advance.

It appears to be a new hotel, which explains why you don't see reviews on it yet.

According to some info I found on a booking site, it's on the main coastal road about half a mile from Amalfi, in the direction of Positano.

The public SITA buses must go right by it, so I would imagine there is a bus stop reasonably close to the hotel.

There probably isn't much right around the hotel, however. So it may not be the most convenient location. The SITA buses stop running around 9PM, I believe. On the other hand, a cab ride to/from Amalfi can't be very expensive.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply. Do you have the web address for the hotel? I could only find it via booking agents? I'd like to contact them direct?

No, I googled the hotel name and all I saw for it were booking sites.

Sorry, I can't help with info re this hotel but I can advise that taxi/cab fares on the Amalfi Coast are expensive!!

Ravello to Amalfi cost E20 last week late evening. Same fare on Sita bus would have been E1.60 but, yes the buses stop running farely early - still thought this was expensive for 10 minute ride.

Enjoy the area. Perhaps consider staying in Amalfi itself - Residenza del Duca is superb.

Ciao

I stayed in Residenza del Duca myself recently, and will agree that it's superb.

Hi Lito,

the website that you are after is

http://www.santamarialuxuryvilla.com/

There is a picture of where it is situated and it looks quite far down. I have never seen it, but it does look beautiful.
