The first week of June

I am thinking of doing a trip with 4 nights in Rome and 4 nights in Florence the first week of June. I am reading some stuff about Italy being hot and crowded in the summer, and I am wondering if it is a mistake to travel there that time of year. Can anyone give me any guidance on:

1) How hot it might be the first week of June, and

2) How bad the crowds might be?

Thanks!

Certainly not most of Florida will be hot! June in Rome is not yet hot. except June 2, which is the Republic Day. In Rome there will be a military parade, not much crowd

What is Republic Day? Is that like a national holiday? Does that mean museums and things will be closed?

It is a national holiday in Italy. It does not work, as regards the Museum will definitely open, I think

It is hot in June; another post just a few ahead of this one, someone who lives in Rome pointed out that last June, half the days were over 85 degrees (F) with 90% humidity - that is hot, especially when you are walking around and visiting outdoor sites.

I've been in Rome in June (many years ago) and it made me decide to only visit in late September or April. I don't like being so uncomfortable.

But, a lot of people do like heat and feel fine in it. And, yes, it will be crowded with families on summer vacation. It is a little less crowded in August (which is brutally hot) but June is crowded - not sure how someone could say it isn't.

Except for August when the Romans go to the beach or the mountains , there are no uncrowded times in these two cities. In June the British school holidays will not have begun nor will the North American ones (around 20th usually) so it will be less crowded than in school holiday time. That is as uncrowded as it gets!!!

Do not les crowds put you off - if you do you will end up staying home! As for the weather that varies but it will certainly be cooler than July.

It isn't always excessively hot in June. Last June was exceptionally hot, one of the hottest on record.
