My wife and I will be starting our Saturday of 'Rome on public transit' at the Catacombs of St. Callixtus. Our next stop is the Roman Forum (we plan to purchase our 3-site tickets there). I have read up (and received great advice) on how to get to the Catacombs from Roma Termini. To get from there to near the Roman Forum I have figured out (I might be mistaken) that the closest Metro stop to Roman Forum is Coloseo. I read somewhere the the main entrance to Roman Forum is NOT near the Colosseum, leading me to believe you just can't get off the Metro at Coliseo, make a right or left and get to the main entrance of the Roman Forum. Because we will be somewhat limited on time, I want to move around on public transport as 'efficiently' as possible. Here are my questions:
Is what I stated about the entrance to the Forum correct?
More importantly, and to the point, what is the best way to get from the Catacombs to the entrance of the Roman Forum?
I will await any response...thank you so much!
