I've done a lot of searching both on T/A and the Internet, in general.
My daughter and two of her friends are planning a trip to Rome and Florence, arriving on June 21st. The three of them are hoping to stay the first four nights in Florence (at a youth hostel OR an inexpensive hotel), followed by three nights in Rome (looking for same type of accommodations). Only accommodation criteria is that it is clean and safe. Being in the center of the city would be a big plus.
I've found several hostels on the www.hostelseurope.com site. The few that have rooms available for all four nights in Florence (3 beds, ensuite WC) seem to run 48 to 60 euros per person, per night. So, 165 euros per night.
I am used to French accommodation prices. You don't need to spend 165 euros per night in France (of course you can if you like).
Can you folks advise if 165 euros per night for a triple room is the norm?
Can anyone recommend a hotel or hostel in Florence that is actually less than that - preferably a lot less....
Thank you very much.
