We are travelling Eurostar to Brussels and want to know how far it is to Bruges. Is it better to get on a train to Bruges or get a taxi. How long does it take?
It is much better to get the train.
There are two trains per hour, and the journey time is about 50 minutes.
If your Eurostar ticket is valid to "any Belgian Station" your onward travel to Bruges is included in the cost of the ticket.
If not, you will have to buy an extra ticket for the journey from Brussels to Bruges.
A taxi would cost several hundred Euros, if you could find a taxi driver willing to take you that far.
Do you know how much this costs please? Old posts on here say 12 euro but imagine this has increased? Thanks v much
Won't have increased by much
If you purchase Eurostar ABS ticket, the element relating to Brussels-Brugge costs something like €6 more than London-Brussels alone. That might be where the €12 comes from (assuming return?).
Because there are dozens and dozens (and dozens...) of more recent questions/answers in this forum giving the current cost of a standard Brussels-Brugge ticket as €13.50 single, €27 return, €14.40 weekend return.Edited: 07 September 2012, 23:28
< Do you know how much this costs please? >
Brussels to Bruges costs €13.50 single.
Return ticket costs €27 on weekdays and €14.40 at weekends.
Thanks, got it included in Eurostar as works out cheaper. Apologies for not reading all posts, I couldn't find the right ones in the plethora of general Brgues posts
