Just about everywhere is open for Christmas and New Year but it is very, very quiet here during November and the first three weeks or so in December.

Can't be specific about certain places though as I don't often go over that way.

The majority of bars & restaurants close down November to Christmas,open for christmas and new year then close down again until approx March/April. You will find approx a dozen bars /restaurants open on the strip, but if you venture just off the strip and surrounding area you will also find quite a few others open. It is very quiet as cubsur says between November to Christmas/New year.

sorry should of been more specific we are thinking of booking the Vilanova Resort we can have a 2 bedroom villa with flights and tranfers for £560 for me and the wife the £560 is for both of us we dont mind it a bit quite but dont want to be the only ones there thanks for all your replies

What company have you had your holiday quote from for Vilanova? Last December it was very quiet not a lot of people around on the strip mainly because Vilanova resort was closed & apparentley Thompsons contract expired(They had originally had exclusivity on the resort) hence no bookings from Thomson. If they are booking again through whatever company I dont see why people numbers shouldn't increase.

booked with sunmaster there are 3 or 4 companies doing it now they were the cheapist thanks for your reply decided to give it a go found a different deal with same firm going 22nd dec till 2nd of jan cost £690 so have taken that 1 thanks again

The Zoomarine day outing close to Albufeira is open as are the amenities of the Club Albufeira which has an an English restaurant and a heated pool on the Albufeira Village part of the complex.Enjoy the fewer crowds,the empty beaches and cliff top walks,the instant service in the restaurants and of course the spring-like sunshine and temperatures.Suggest that you should take your slippers as the tiled floors can be cold and a woolly for the evenings.

PS- I forgot to mention the wonderful fireworks display and live entertainment on the Albufeira beach on New Year`s Eve - no shortage of people at that event!
