If we decide to stay near a beach and not in the center of Hydra, then how are we supposed to go to our hotel at nights? We have 2 little children, and walking 15 or 20 (or more) with them on us is not such a good idea..

It depends where you stay. If you stay at the Mandaraki hotel, there is a boat going from the hotel to the port every half hour or so. But I don't know until which time in the evening.

The water taxis will, I think, drive until at least 10 or 11 o clock in the evening. But be aware, they are very expensive and may charge you extra in the evening.
