Back from beautiful Ruka and hated leaving :-(

Had the most amazing time but managed to bring home a couple of broken ribs for both me and hubby!

Had a magical snowmobile trip on thurs to reindeer farm which was so wonderful words can't describe but on the Friday hubby hit a mound of frozen ice which tipped the skidoo over quite hard and I followed and tried to avoid him and ended up in a tree and thrown off my skidoo! Luckily the kids on the back of both had no injuries and the skidoos were fine apart from some broken plastic!

Kuusamo safaris were wonderful about it and we got straight back on the skidoos back to the office!

We didn't let that spoil our fun, it was a shock but it could have been a lot worse.

I'm going to be posting my review shortly and I'm also going to write a travellers article as there really isn't enough info on Ruka and this resort is hardly ever mentioned when someone is looking at resorts to visit!

We can't wait to go back and 1 week really wasn't enough even though we did a lot of exploring there's still so much to see and do.

It's a very quiet resort if you go at the right time and the quality of everything there was outstanding.

The finland experts are correct, just ok is not good enough, they have very high standards, a lot higher than the UK!

Ouch! Too bad for your ribs. Did you have to visit a doctor there (and if yes, did you manage to do it in Ruka or did you have to go to Kuusamo)?

Good to hear though that you were happy with your holiday and satisfied with your holiday.

Ruka is a nice mixture indeed - and very quiet from epiphany to mid February when the peak season starts and it runs for about 3 weeks after which it is quiet again until Easter which is probably the busiest single long weekend there.
