Thermal suit hire
Save

Hi

We are going to yllas in December and need to get thermal suits and boots for 2 adults and 2 children, aged 4 and 7. Inghams are charging £29 pp for suit hire and £19 pp for boot hire. Does anyone know if it will be any cheaper to hire them in resort or through destination lapland independently?? I did wonder about buying them before we went and then trying to resell?Any suggestions welcomed.Thank you

For clothing advice one of the regulars here has written an excellent info at http://lapland.fruitbandit.com . Thermal suit hire is not something any of the companies openly advertise. All safari companies provide the equipment for the duration of their safaris. You can ask the safari companies about the possibility to rent a snow suit for the duration or trip. However, I doubt it would become much if any cheaper than through Inghams, most likely you'd be renting them from the same place even (they are always local companies who provide the outfits for the tour operators, too). For your first trip renting might be the best option and if you then become a regular visitor to Lapland you can consider buying them for longer use. Even if you're renting you must have you own thermal underwear and warming layer.

personally I think you would be able to buy it all cheaper than hiring

you will easily get snow suites for the children for about £10 and boots for about the same if not less and I would say get all in one suits for them

for the adults, you can get jackets for about a fiver and pants for about the same, with the postage you will probably spend £20 and you can get moon boots for about £10 too

I know that o'neill stuff just does not sell (other than certain colours) but its great stuff and will do you fine

look on ebay - you will get everything you want there and I am sure you will get it for less than the hire price and you can sell them on afterwards

if you need any help, give me a shout, been to lapland lots and ski a lot, have two kids and always bought stuff from ebay every year for us and our two kids
