I have booked a trip for myself and 2 children , 1 day trip on 9 Dec.

I do hope I do not experience any of the other problems have mentioned through Trip Advisor with regards to Transun etc...

I will be travelling alone with my 2 children and it will such hard work if everything doesn't go to plan.

I am looking for some positive comments from others????

go with a positive mind and it will be fine - take some extra snacks out with you and a pillow for them to sleep on the plane

I think you will find that most of the comments about transun are mainly on their longer stays as its about the accommodation and food

have a great time

We stayed at the davvi last Monday to Friday with transun. It was amazing. The trips all ran like clockwork, were very professional and the staff cannot do enough for you. I have recommended them to my friends. You have nothing to worry about, problems and issues they have had in the past seem to have been eradicated. Have a great time. We loved it and we're not at all let down in any way.

We have just returned last night from a transun day trip to Eontekio.

It was a disaster from start to finish. My advise is DON'T GO.at least not with this company.I don't know where to start. Our flight from Glasgow was delayed by 2 hours. No rep would speak to us and all the passengers had extremely tired children(awake from 4 am) to keep happy. In fact people were so unhappy that police turned up to calm the situation down.

When we eventually took off,The service on board was extremely basic. The hot meal promised was the poorest i have ever experienced. We were offered 1 drink service. And no "duty free"offered. This was the least of our problems..We had a 45 minute transfer time(cutting into our time again

)when we eventually got to the "resort"it was pitch black and the temperature had dropped to -30.I was prepared for extremely low temps but what i was not prepared for was the amount of time you were expected to hang around in the open, queueing with young children (I had 3 grandchildren aged 4,5, and 6 ) The hot meal offered was edible, but very basic, and nothing suitable for children. The reindeer ride was in the pitch dark with only candles for light (I felt unsafe and the kids were scared. The husky ride, again I felt was not safe for young kids, and the wind chill factor was very painful on our faces..to get to the rides we had to walk through the woods in the darkness,if you walked off the path you were up to your knees in soft snow.

The worst part of the day was going to see Santa, you had to queue for 30 minutes,by which time the kids were crying because they were frozen and chittering with the cold,.You were then pulled on a sleigh by a snow mobile for 20 minutes over a frozen lake I can only guess what the wind chill factor was Again I felt extremely unsafe and the cold was frightening,.the kids were again crying with the cold..The only highlight was Santa, the kids were enthralled..they spent around 10 minutes with him then back on the trip from hell to get back to the base.by the time we got back to the cafe the kids were crying and extremely distressed by the cold.,as were most of the other children on the trip.Even the reps were complaining.Every person we spoke to was complaining and extremely angry, and every one said the would be asking for a full refund. To add insult to injury the return flight was delayed an hour, there were not enough seats for the passengers and people were sitting and lying on the bare floor. This has been a very expensive MISTAKE agan my advice is DON,T GO WITH THIS COMPANY .

There is a new management team running the outdoor activities in Finland this season for Transun and now it is approaching peak season they will not cope. Day trips will be a disaster as they cant cope and overfill capacity.

such a shame that this has happened, the extreme weather has to be anticipated by these santa companies and they have to ensure that they are prepared for it, clearly they were not

lapland is such a magical place and once again transun has ruined its magic and having a new team means they are not prepared for the amount of people, their expectations and the temps

Nothing you can do just hope you are one off the lucky ones and it does not go to bad.... a lot depend on which resort you will be going to for the day.

Make sure you leave a review under the davvi arctic lodge.

This is also owned/run by transun.

just state you were only there on a day trip.

Minus thirty Celsius is perfectly normal winter weather in Lapland. Any tour company that fails to make adequate preparations for completely predictable conditions is undeserving of custom, especially when it aims its marketing at families with children. Its future customers should pray it doesn't get REALLY cold on their trips.
