Airport to Reykjavík hotel one-way ISK 2.200 x 4 = ISK 8.800
Taxi is now probably around ISK 10.000-12.000
So, has the taxi price gone up? I found some posts that said taxi from Airport to Reykjavik would be around 6000-9000 isk?
Just wondering about the same thing, I'm coming over with my Mom and sister in the end of April.
I haven't taken a taxi from the airport into Reykjavík for some years. It seems to me that the price hasn't been kr. 6.000 since the early 1990's !
The largest taxi company in Reykjavík, Hreyfill, quotes kr. 11.900 on their Web site http://www.hreyfill.is/en/taxi_tours/
If you buy the Flybus+ return ticket you also get a 10% discount of your trip.
Then the total cost is 16.000 ISK instead of 24.000 ISK
A friend of mine has a Taxi and his rate is 8,500 to 10,200 for 4 people.
You have to book in advance. Tell him Kent recommended him.
Thanks a lot. We'll probably take the Flybus since it seems so easy and Mom is not that old yet =)
Flightbus to Reykjavik, hotel Loftleidir is ISK 1700 each, to other hotels on the route (selected not all) 2200. Taxi is at least 10 - 12000.
Have a nice trip!
Regards,
Kristjan
May I ask how come Flybus to Hotel Loftleidir is ISK1700 and others is ISK2200? What is the difference?
Loftleidir hotel is en route to the bus station.
Secondly, Icelandair owns the flybus company and Loftleidir hotel.
B-)
The price to Hótel Loftleiðir is 2200 just like to any other hotel in Reykjavik.
See the list of hotels we pick up and drop off at.
http://www.re.is/Flybus/PickUp/
The Flybus price is 1700 to the BSI Bus terminal downtown Reykjavik and 2200 to any of the listed hotels and guesthouses.
The company owning the Flybus operator is not Icelandair since more than 2 years back but Flybus is very tightly connected to all flight operators flying to iceland. The schedule is made to fit around all arrivals and departures in Keflavik Airport. Departures are 30-40 minutes after every flight arrival in Keflavik.
If you have any more questions regarding this, don't hesitate to ask.
