Does anyone know if there are any walking tours within easy reach between Queens Bay Hotel and Pathos and/or Coral Bay.
I am relying on public transport to get there.

Hi,
Not really into walking, with 3 kids and husband in tow :) but I found this website on the net that might help you:
and http://www.cyprusbybus.com - just plug in where you are starting and where you want to go it's very interactive.
Have a lovely holiday.
That's really nice of you, many thanks.
There is a rambling group in Paphos, but I don't think they walk during the heat of summer. You don't mention when you are travelling, if it is shortly buy a Cyprus Mail or get hold of Grapevine in Paphos and you may find a walk you could join.
There are a couple of walk books available.
Do you have a particular interest i.e. just walking, or seeing the flowers, or birds or archaeological sites?
As already mentioned, it depends a bit on the time of year - and what distances you want to go.
When I was there in May I took a bus up to to Koili and walked along the E4 (long distance walking route) - mostly downhill, to Pegia, then took the bus back from there via Coral Bay.
I was worried that the Tourist Office brochure indicated it would take a 'helluva' long time. In fact, that bit only took 2.5-3 hours, depending on whether you count the diversions when I got lost! :-)
It would have been easy enough to start from Tsada - and easier to get there by bus as there are more of going there. You have to learn to get up to the main Karavella bus station for this as many of the buses to the villages go from there .
However, I would not, personally, recommend it in summer. Apart from little saunters along the sea front (any distance between the airport and beyond Coral Bay, if you don't mind some rough bits) I would suggest you need to go higher up and/or amongst forests.
It's a nice walk out from the Corallia Beach bus terminus just beyond Coral Bay, along the sea front, to Yiallos restaurant, right by the sea in the middle of nowhere. Takes about 20-30 minutes, depending on your speed. The first bit is a bit complicated to get around the hotel grounds but, going away from town beyond the hotel, take the first road down to the left and walk along by the sea from there. The odd 'rough' spot but lovely and wild, and an excellent destination to walk to!
I've not tried it but imagine you could keep walking to Agios Georgios from there and take a bus back - or v.v.
Good luck with the walking.

Hi again, I enjoy walking but not hiking as not a spring chicken any more. I am also very bad at map reading and as I will be travelling on my own, the two don't mix! I love the countryside, birds, views, etc. Managed to get lost every day in Prague a couple of weeks ago so no hope really !!! Many thanks.
Maybe I was being a bit too adventurous/naive, so I think I will try the walk out from the Corallia Beach bus terminus just beyond Coral Bay. If I am not back home in 2 weeks, it will be because I got lost... not for the first time.
Many thanks.
Like CyprusLover mentions above, the walk from the bus terminus at Coralia along the coast to Yiallos taverna is an easy and pretty walk. You can carry on from there to Sea Caves. And if you've still got the energy, carry on to Agios Georgios. Providing you've done a bit of planning you can get a bus back from there to Coralia.
Another walk from Coralia is first to get the bus to Peyia Village. Have a look round the village, and take in the scenery down towards the coast. Then slowly walk back down towards Coral Bay. There's several downward routes on quiet lanes, and they all more-or-less come out at the same spot.
Buses to the villages ALL depart from the Karavella bus station in Old Paphos. If you don't know where that is you can always get a bus there from the harbour terminus (No.618).
Panagia, and Polis are good trips out on the 3 Euro day ticket.
Wherever you walk take plenty of water.
Pick up a pocket timetable for the buses from the harbour terminus.
We got the bus to Polis with the 3 euro day ticket, went to see the baths of Aphrodite, then walked along the coastal path on the Akamas peninsular. This is a fabulous walk with stunning scenery and can be as easy or hard as you like.
Now that sounds fun to me. Can you give a solo walker any more info, eg. how easy it is to find the coastal path, what to look out for to find the 'easy route', how long it takes, whether there was any stopping point for a drink, food, etc, how easy is it to get back to Pathos, and any other tips/pointers would be lovely.
Many thanks
