Hi,

Will be staying for 2 nights on 5th May. Any ideas on hotels? Have read some bad reviews. Visiting son at uni. Parking and close to uni an advantage.

Please recommend restaurants and best sites to see. A day trip is a possibility. How far is lake district?

Thanks.

Hi cruit 1,

There are many hotels in Huddersfield and many many restaurants serving foods from nearly every corner of the world.

Here are a few starting from the cheapest.

Jumbos.Chinese buffet a very wide range, prices start at £4.99 per adult for one and a half hours.Very popular, town centre location,2 minutes from the raiway ststion.

Solo Mio.(My personal Italian choice)Full Italian menu also chicken, game and steak.£15 per head will get you a decent meal.Situated in the centre of Huddersfield.

Aakash.Indian restaurant, the largest Indian restaurant in the world.£15-£20 per head.Situated in Cleckheaton,10-15min drive from Huddersfield town centre.Well worth it!

Bradley's.Modern British cuisine.£25+ PER HEAD.2mins from Huddersfield ton centre.

The George Hotel is in the centre of Huddersfied nxt to the railway station,it was were rugby legue was invented.A fair 3 star hotel.

Huddersfield Hotel. In the centre of Huddersfild.A good 3 star hotel very near to the Uni.

Durker Roots Hotel.Situated in Meltham,10-15min drive from Huddersfield. town centre. Avery good 3 star.

I hope that is some help. The Lakes are about one and a half hours away as is Blackpoo.Huddersfield as too many attractions to mention.A lot ot tv programs are made in and around Huddersfield.Take a look at the many sites for Kirklees and also Yorkshire.

Have a great time and please ask if you need more detailed info.

Hi,

I've got a great suggestion for a restaurant, they'll also offer discount for you as your son is a student.

If your in the West Yorkshire area over the holidays, a great restaurant to try is Royal Cuisine with their massive open kitchen. They do a great variety of food including Rotisserie Spit-Roast Chicken (which you can see rotating on the huge machine), Traditional Curries, Freshly Baked Pizzas, Baguettes, Fried Chicken and Starters.

It may seem like they can't be good at all of those, but i recommend you give them a try and you'll be amazed at how they specialise and excel in all these items.

More information is available at their website - Royal Cuisine - Huddersfield Restaurant
