Going to NH Riviera... and want to know more

Hi everyone...

My friend and I just booked a 7-day trip to NH Riviera (departing on Feb 14).

Got a great deal... but feel like we took a gamble with this new place.

Site looks good... although remote.

Would enjoy any comments about the place... food, activities, transport facilities.

Thanks...

We are booked for this resort for May 1st. This will be our third time visiting a brand new resort in Mexico. I am very encouraged by the positive reviews this early, as our previous resorts had far more growing pains. However, when we arrived everything was great.

Are you staying in the Paradise Club (Adults Only section)? If you are flying Air Transat it is referred to as Concierge Master Suites.

Thanks rcaj...

Unfortunately, we did not book in the Adults Only section.

Hope this will be OK...

If you get more info about the resort, don't hesitate to share.

We'll do the same.

rcaj, my husband and I are staying 5/1 to 5/7 in a Platinum suite at NH Riviera.

JFB68-New resorts can be a gamble but thus far the NH reviews are good for a newly opened resort. This year my husband and I were initially booked for Dreams Puerto Aventuras but the reviews indicate that there are problems that extend beyond growing pains of a new resort so we switched to the NH Riviera Cancun. My husband and I stayed at the Barcelo Palace in May last year when it had only been open 6 months and it was a wonderful experience. In my opinion the savings that you can get on booking new resorts far outweighs a few kinks here and there.

Edit: I meant that we will be staying in a Paradise Club suite not a Platinum suite.

Thanks adorealson... you make me feel better about our choice.

The place looks great!

It's not far from Cancun and Playa del Carmen... so, we'll be able to enjoy the area while experiencing the hotel.

adoraelsolny,

My husband and I (mid 40's) have booked new resorts for the last 3 years and all experiences have been wonderful.

2007 Royal Cancun

2008 Grand Sunset Princess

2009 NH Luxury Riviera Cancun

We are non-demanding, easy going people who really enjoy the mexican people and do not expect them to cater to our every whim. We appreciate a nice resort, nice room and different food choices to experience. We look forward to this vacation every year to relax and unwind, and it would take a lot to upset us.

We are also staying in the Paradise Club and I am really looking forward to having the Jacuzzi on the balcony. We are travelling with Air Transat from Halifax.

It would be nice to meet up with you for a drink.

rcaj-The jacuzzi on the terrace was the clincher for my husband. We should definitely meet up for a drink when we are there.

We are going there in June, and have also been very encouraged by the latest reviews. We went to Grand Sunset Princess last summer when it was newly opened. It was wonderful, just too big. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Just returned from NH and we had a great time. The weather was wonderful. If you like it quiet this is the place. No lines or people for the Dining rooms or buffet. Inquiry about the bus to Playa or Cancun.

Also as mentioned check out the $2 snorkeling.
