Hi,
Will be in Sydney at the end of April. Apart from a day trip to Blue Mountains, have two days to spend in Sydney. Any suggestions for a young family with two kids. (3 & 6)

I always loved catching the ferry over to the zoo as a child and I never tired of it when I grew up.
I'm with MacKnee. I've always loved the Zoo especially with the Ferry trip there. Also you can let them run amok at the Powerhouse Museum near Darling Harbour, lots for kids to do there.

There is also the Maritime Museum with warships and a submarine to clamour over.

The Sydney Aquarium and the Zoo there are worth a look at as well. Why not do a ferry trip to Manly and back to Darling Harbour then visit the aquarium and if time the maritime museum there... lots to see and do. Luna Park is just across the harbour rught under the bridge.. a ferry to Lavender Bay will get you there I think.
I agree, if the weather is good, definitely take a ferry to Manly Beach.
thanks for the suggestions. the zoo seems to be high on the list & something that the kids would love.
Some great suggestions for Sydney given already..

Little known attraction for kids int he CBD include the clock on the outside of the glasshouse on the hour
cath the ferry as already suggested and a ride on the monorail never goes astray
being the ned of April there may be some kids activities in darling Harbour to entertain...
there is also a sydney wildlife world at darling harbour to consider

do take a ferry ride to either the zoo (if going there) or if not, to manly to walk around and enjoy the area
consider a daytripper ticket if doing plenty of travel on public transport...the ferry trip to/from manly alone is A$12/adult

Sixteen months after our trip to Sydney, our daughter (now a few weeks shy of six) still talks about Luna Park. (We combined it with a fab lunch at Ripples.) Second favorite is the aquarium. She loved the sharks.
