Starts Tuesday May 28 to May 3, 2009.
The final lineup includes over 60 films, including 20 World Premieres and a special segment of Puerto Rican films. Filmmakers from afar have already begun making their travel arrangements and more than half of the films will have filmmakers present at their screenings.
The festival features daytime beachside screenings at Villa Cofresi, and will include special segments of surfing films, kids films, and Puerto Rican films. The evening dinner events will be hosted by different resorts in Rincon and are themed with an Opening Comedy Night, Fright Night, Documentary Night and Family Film night. The organizers intend to give away $4000 in cash prizes to filmmakers as well as a scholarship to a young Puerto Rican filmmaker and door prize raffle giveaways to attending audience members.
On Sunday evening, at 7:00 pm, The Rincon International Film Festival will be offering a FREE event to the city of Rincon at the Rincon Plaza, complete with Flamenco dancers followed by 2 wonderful films: Salva Tres Palmas, featuring many Rincon sites, and the World Premiere documentary look into the rise of popular singer, James Blunt, "Till You Were Told To Stop: James Blunt", with the Director present for questions/answers following the film screening.
