Hotel Selection - Help
Save

Hello Everyone,

Greetings from India. Now that our plan for central europe is finally on its way I would like to narrow down choices of hotels in each city and get around booking those asap.

We are staying in Prague for 4 days from 12th to 16th September. We will be coming in by train from Krakow and leaving by bus for Cesky Krumlov. What we are looking for in our hotel choice is clean room and bath, good breakfast, safe neighbourhood and accessibility to attractions and public transport. Our budget is around €60 to €90/night.

1 - Could you recommend hotels in the range I have specified?

2 - What areas are considered good to stay for our trip?

Thank you for taking the time out to read my post and replying to it.

Regards, Rishi

Prices vary greatly depending on the time of year and the availability. I would suggest going on booking.com and having a look. My favorite area of Prague is Mala Strana, especially the area called Kampa. My two recommendations for people on a budget are Hotel Kampa Garden and Hotel Residence Mala Strana. Friends from India stayed at the latter and were very satisfied. I can't recommend more, because I never stay in hotels in Prague. However, if you find something you like and would like to know more about the neighborhood or particular street that the hotel is on, let me know.

We are booked into the Archibald at the Charles Bridge in the Kampa area for June following recommendations on this forum. It looks to be in an ideal location and love the look of the rooms.

Will report back - it has great reviews on TA.

Edit: Sorry just reread your post and its out of budget I think.

The Archibald is DEFINITELY out of the OP's budget. But the Hotel Kampa Garden might work for him, and it is right around the corner.

BTW its not on to use capital letters in a post - its shouting.

Bronia, I wasn't shouting. You wrote "I think" and I used capital letters to point out the difference between what you were saying and what I was saying, so as to confirm your post and recognize it, not steal your thoughts. Using capital letters in a post doesn't have to be shouting - it can be used to replace underlining, which is not possible in a post.

But your suggestion was a good one - the Archibald is a great hotel. You will love it, and Prague as a whole. Have a great trip!

Hello Everyone,

Thanks for your replies. I have been researching for the past few days and have made a shortlist of hotels as below:

Best Western Hotel Kinsky Garden

Best Western City Hotel Moran

NH Prague

Constans Hotel

Charles Bridge Residence

King Charles Boutique Hotel Residence

Cloister Inn

pentahotel Prague

Aparthotel City 5

Hotel Residence Mala Strana

All the above prices are per night for a room with breakfast and taxes. Could you please advise me as to which is a better hotel for accessibility to the sights in general and overall for staying.

Thanks & Regards, Rishi

Take NH Prague off your list.. not in a great location

Constans is in a hilly part of Mala Strana

Cloister and Residence Mala strana are probably the most central

Hotel Residence Mala Strana - EUR 56

Thanks everyone for your help.
