 Quiet Hotel.

Hi will be visiting Krakow in August and am looking for a quiet Hotel near the square. Have stayed in Krakow before at Majeko Hotel, lovely Hotel but was kept awake by church bells early in the morning. I am an extremely light sleeper so would love to find a really quiet Hotel..would appreciate any help. Thank you

derlen....you dont ask for too much do you!....this is krakow after all....i dont think any hotel is not within 100 feet of a church...lol....but i do love a challenge so here goes....why not stay by the river...pod wawelem for a moderate priced hotel...ask for a corner room,a step up from there the hotel kossak and pricier yet the sheraton....the kossak is a bit further out and you have to cross a busy road....ask for a high floor room....but the others are a short walk to grodzka street...how bout the quebus on the other side of the river....somewhat close to plac nowy, which you should be spending some of your time hanging out there anyway....dont stay at the columbus unless you can get a back room as there are trams running in front of the hotel....otherwise a great hotel and a few minutes away from plac nowy which to me is the coolest place in poland to hang out....the wawel tourist hotel is nicely located but so many churches all around...in any case you might have to stay further out to avoid the church bells but in krakow thats a plus as you get to ride the trams about town

Ha Ha very funny lol, of course you are right Krakow is full of beautiful churches but I probably failed to mention that the church close to Matjeko had bells ringing from 4AM , Maybe there was something going on at the time, I don't know.. the rest of my group didn't hear them until i mentioned it so. I ruined their sleep too.... Ah well insomniac that I am I guess i'll just have to suffer on ....Will try Hotels you mentioned but as I'm travelling with 2 elderly people I'd rather be close to everything (bells and all) ...Thanks again

try the wawel tourist then....right in the middle of everything....and better yet its right near the only tram stop in the old town, and near alot of great restaurants including trzy papryki my favorite pizza place with the fab outside garden restaurant....e mail them with your concerns, they may be of help...the wyspianski is well located and moderate price....nothing to look at from the outside but redone inside...love the outside beer garden overlooking the planty and watching all the guests return from their night on the town....its set away from the street.

The Holiday Inn - about an 8 min. walk from Rynet Glowny. No churches nearby, tram is a 3 min. walk. We stayed there last week and it was the perfect location. A beautiful hotel, nice courtyard, restaurant....upscale, but very reasonable. Comfy beds and quiet.

We were in Krakow in May. Stayed at the antique apartment hotel. Great location on Sczapanski (I believe the spelling might be off!) You go through a courtyard and rooms are off street. Kitchen facilities available...1-2-3-4- bedrooms available. A short walk to Rynek Glowny...maybe 2 blocks...there's a square in front of the hotel...the restaurant next door, not the one associated w/hotel...served great food...reasonably priced. We would go back there next May however, I got a great deal on the Hotel Eurojeski which is very the train station and is so beautiful.

Enjoy.

Hotel Royal or Wyspianski?? Have booked Wyspianski for a good price but reading back on reviews it seems rooms are very warm with no air conditioning...As we will be there early August I am a bit concerned, any advice be welcome, Thanks
