I am hoping someone can tell me which place to go if I can only pick one. We will be in Ambergris for 4 days, then would like to do the jungel for another 4 days. Should we do Chan Chich or Chaa Creek? Any advice or opinions are very much welcome!

Also, I would like to know your thoughts on Ian's Cave Branch. We may extend our trip so we may be able to check out two spots. So, what do you recommend after going to Ambergris-- Chan Chich, Chaa Creek and/ or Ian's Cave Branch?

Chan Chich is a wonderful lodge in very deep jungle with great trails and guides to spot wildlife and great for birders. Chaa Creek is perhaps one of the finest lodges in the region, with many other activities like cvae trips, Mayan sites, waterfalls in the area. Black Rock is up river from Chaa Creek is a very good moderately priced lodge along a lovely stretch of the Macal River. Also take a look at duPlooys, in between Chaa Creek and BRL.

I am trying to decide between Chan Chich and Chaa Creek, also. I am leaning toward Chaa Creek since they have rooms w/ outdoor jacuzzis. Room price is higher but other things cost less.

If you haven't decided yet, I'll also throw out a recommendation for Crystal Paradise. It's not far from Chaa Creek, just outside San Ignacio. We just returned from CP last night where we stayed 6 nights and absolutely loved it. It's not a luxury resort, but it was clean and an excellent value for the money, and the food was great. It is also pretty centrally located if you want to do several day trips in the jungle area - cave tubing, mountain pine ridge, ruins..... have a fun trip - Belize is amazing!!

I am partial to Chaa Creek. It is gorgeous and the spa is heavenly!

Just got back from Black Rock and adored it. Less "manicured" than Chaa Creek and GLORIOUS view from the rooms. IF you want a spa, than go to Chaa Creek. I can't recommend Black Rock enough!
