 Coconut Cottage in Placencia

What more can you say about this perfect cottage on the beautiful Placencia beach? It had everything we needed to leave our jobs and move in...great beds, a well-equipped kitchen and bath, fresh drinking water from the tap, a shady porch with two hammocks, beach towels, and a great landlady, Kay Westby, who loaned us one of her cats (Baby Beluga) during our stay. She even took me to the bank when I had a problem with the cash machine. And, to top it off, there were two cold Belikin beers waiting for us in the fridge when we arrived. We hope to go back some day and stay longer!

Make sure to visit Magda at The Shak at the beginning of the sidewalk for great breakfasts and smoothies.

Because of your post, we stayed with Kay at Coconut Cottage. It was perfect for us. Basic (no TV) but fully functional kitchen, comfortable beds...but the best was the view of the beach, palm trees and ocean from the front porch. The sound of the surf at night. Close to town and wonderful restaurants, yet was so quiet. There are many children around - not a good place if you hate children. John the baker would stop by in the mornings with fresh goodies. Not too sweet, but very tasty - cinnamon bons, sesame cookies, a ham and cheese pizza shaped goodie. And Kay was wonderful! Very helpful and good suggestions.
