We are thinking of renting a car from Tangiers Airport (don't want to drive IN Tangiers) and driving the two hours south to Chefchaouen. We understand that you can spend a whole day exploring the town but are thinking of doing a quick 2 or 3 hour look and then driving north again to the A5, scooting across and then down the coast to Asilah for a couple of hours. We are from Canada and are used to driving long distances in a day, and yes it would be a LONG day, but this doesn't seem unreasonable? Is there something we are not aware of ... hideous roads? We plan to return some day but for this trip we only have two days in Tangiers. One for the day trip and one to explore Tangiers itself. We'd be interested in peoples thoughts.
