Hi everyone,
Off to South Africa and Victoria Falls in just over 4 weeks. Been stressing about the visa despite Mr Ivans excellent advice. I knew I needed a double entry visa because I want to do the Chobe day trip, but what if I got the chance to walk across the bridge to see the falls from the other side, then I'd need a multiple entry visa!!!
Being money conscious I also wanted to save myself as much money as possible. Anyway last Thursday I went up to London for the day for a show and decided to visit the Zambia High Commission in the morning and lodge my visa request. I went armed with the forms X2 (again thanks to Mr Ivan), 2 photos, £60 cash and a pre-paid registered envelope.
The last visa I had to apply for was an Indian one and found the Indian embassy to be a bit like bedlam - chaotic, noisy, hot and crowded. Not so the Zambian High Commission, I was completely taken aback to walk into a cool oasis of calm. I had no sooner taken a seat on a comfy sofa when I was called in to hand in my documents. A very efficient lady took everything and gave me a receipt, saying my passport would be back by Tuesday. The whole thing took less than 20 minutes and I was out on the street enjoying the rest of my day.
Today is now Tuesday and sure enough my passports have just arrived back duly stamped!
