Good food, good value...Thanksgiving venues in Chiang Mai

The following are two places that I can highly recommend to you visitors and expats living here who "feel the need" for turkey and all the trimmings on 26 November...Hope it helps some...Marie (nannyre)

American Thanksgiving Venues Thursday, November 26

For American Thanksgiving Dinner Thursday, November 26, 2009 John, at Pun Pun Guest House has agreed to do a traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at a reasonable price. He also did this last year at the last minute after many people asked where there was a Thanksgiving Dinner at a reasonable price. He would like people to reserve as soon as possible so he can determine how many turkeys to order. Anyhow, he’ll have three seatings. First at 1:00PM to 3:00PM, the second will be at 3:30 to 5:30 PM and the last will be at 6:00 to 8:00PM. Last year he did an excellent dinner with huge portions. There were 32 people that attended and I think everyone was more than satisfied. His portions at the restaurant have always been huge and he gives great value. The menu and price are in the enclosed attachment. For reservations for Thanksgiving ONLY: punpungh@gmail.com or

telephone 053-243-362 or mobile 08-0491-8484 Give the time of the seating that you want and how many in your party.

The Duke's

will still be doing it's traditional family style Thanksgiving. Price will be 495 Baht. This includes Turkey or salmon, stuffing, butternut squash soup, Caesar Salad, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, gravy, green been casserole, sauteed mushrooms, Parkerhouse Rolls, Cranberries and pumpkin, apple and blueberry pie and coffee and tea.

Prime Rib is available for 795 Baht with the sides.

At The Duke's they serve family style so there is always lots of food.

There is an early seating at noon for The Baan Saa Faan Orphanage and they host The Abba House in The Night Bazaar branch if anyone would like to share with them. Donations are welcome for either of these worthwhile local services that do so much.

Other seatings are at 3:00, 5:30 and 8:00. For reservations people can call anytime at 053.249.231.

Hi Marie,

Once again you've come through with great information.

I've put this up under the FAQ's for the time being - thought it might catch peoples eye there.

Thanks,

Caroline.

Do you know if one needs to make reservations at The Duke's for Thanksgiving dinner? I would hate to show up on the day and be turned away.

I thought that I mentioned in my forum post that you need reservations at either of the places that I have suggested on here? The phone numbers are included in the post. Please call the restaurant of your choice and let them know which seating you wish to make reservations for and the number of people in your party. Also, if you are going to be making reservations at The Duke's please be ready to tell them if you want turkey, salmon or prime rib...it does matter a great deal to David, since he needs to keep count on how many portions to plan for each seating during on this busy day......

Also....thanks a bunch Caroline for posting the initial information on the FAQ page....you're a doll! Marie (nannyre)
