i am flying to micronesia in july 2008. my flight originates in washington, dc, usa. i overnight in hawaii, then i am staying in majuro in the marshall islands for a few days before island hopping to weno (chuuk) for the next 12 days. altogether, the trip will take about 2 1/2 weeks, and the cost of the flight was $2500. i went directly through continental, and i did purchase the "island hopper" ticket. call the 800 number to book tickets. the staff was very helpful, and i was able to hold my itinerary for 21 days and make changes as needed in the meantime before confirming.

a friend of mine is also traveling there in july and is looking into passes. i've heard of one called the "circle micronesia" pass and another called the "visit micronesia" pass, but i was told by continental that they no longer existed.
