After some good feed back from other memebers I booked for the Longachamps Hotel as I thought. The price flashed up on the reservation form but after not receiving a confirmation, a week after I wrote and sadly they are fully booked so its back to the drawing board again. I am totally confused about the whole thing as nearly every hotel in what I would call the average bracket seems to have some bad reviews. At the moment I am hovering between The Havana and the Oasis but feel the Oasis might be a long way out. The reviews for both these hotels are good but with the Oasis wondered if you are restricted to eating the hotel and therefore more expensive. Then on the other hand read that the Havana doesn't have a lift and I have problems with my knee. I am open to any other recommendations. |

lso forgot to say the Shepheard Hotel but can't get any response from them and can't find it listed in any booking agency.

Regarding Shepheard Hotel I just checked (going through the listing here on TA, and it came up on Otel and Expedia, for arounde 130 USD. So you could try again. Shame about Longchamps, it is a small hotel and popular so can be hard to get a room. In the same building as the Longchamps there is another hotel called Horus House, it does not have many reviews but according the the photos I have seen it does look ok as a budget hotel, and the location is far more convenient than the Oasis (not near to anything), and a more pleasant area that the other hotel you mentioned. I got the contact detials off the net : Telephone: 02 735 3634 Email: hotel_hours@yahoo.com I read on a Lonely Planet review that you need to ask for one of the renovated rooms. Anyway it might be worth checking out. Hope that helps. Wendy
