Has anyone been to Peru surfing at Chicama (North of Trujillo)? I have heard mixed things about the safety of the region. I will be travelling with my husband, 22 yr old son and a guide. Any comments/suggestions would be appreciated!

In Chicama you should stay with El Hombre. Most surfers stay at his place. Its quite basic but OK.

Just follow his suggestions on safety, specially at night time and going to town.
