The real lowdown on boardwalk buffets

Hello,

I am looking for a cheap ( did I say cheap? ) dinner boardwalk buffet. Anything decent under 20 bucks? Also I see this Tony boloney's above Revel looks good for cheese steaks. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, any good VP ( video poker ) on the Boardwalk? Thanks.

Showboat is ~$20 all of the time.

However, if you want lobster or crab claws on weekends, you have to pay extra.

The only good VP (Full pay and comps) is at Borgata.

Thanks for the advice. We are straying at the Showboat. Is there a shuttle that goes to the Borgota/Harrah's from the Boardwalk?

You can take a jitney close to the Showboat bus terminal exit to the Borgata or Harrahs or the Total Rewards bus in the bus terminal to Harrahs.

If you go to the Borgata or Harrahs, their breakfast and lunch buffets are less than $20. The Borgata breakfast and lunch buffets are better than Harrahs IMHO but the Borgata buffet is closed most Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Okay, I am somewhat naive. What is a jitney, and what is the cost? Thanks for all your help. Is the buffet/VP worth it at the Borgata? I am straying at the Showboat, which is a Harrah's ( ?) hotel. Can I use the Total Rewards bus to Harrah's from the Showboat?

A jitney is a small privately owned bus that handles transportation throughout AC. It cost $2.25. You can take the total rewards shuttle from Showboat to Harrahs but people gave been complaining that it doesn't run often enough. If the TR shuttle is there take it but it may not be worth waiting for.

There is also a good link for cheap eats in the top questions section. You need to be on the forums full site to see it not on the mobile site.

>>Tony boloney's above Revel looks good for cheese steaks<< Yes, Tony Boloneys has good cheesesteaks. And they have an award winning Cheeststeak Ole [I prefer a plain cheesesteak, but that's just me. many ppl love the Ole]. BUT. I suggest trying something different at Tony boloneys. Their menu has many eclectic items. http://www.tonyboloneys.com/ Like this one time, in bandcamp ←tee~hee, I couldn't resist! One weekend, their sub o the week was Thai~Me~Up & they had a photo of it on their site. So the photo convinced me to try it. And I liked it sooo much, that I ordered another before leaving AC to take home with me [Thai~Me~Up is on their regular menu now]. One sub I don't like is the Irregular. One [or more] of the lunchmeats they use is too salty for me. And my favorite pizza is Casino Carnivore. There's 10 meats on it, and I've had many Casino Carnivores, but have never taken the time to count & identify all the meats ←I KNOW 1 is bacon [mmmm, bacon]

That must be capicola, it's dry-cured pork. You have to be Italian to appreciate it.

Along the Boardwalk, there are still some full pay VP in Showboat if you’re not concerned with how much it takes to earn pennies in comps. Resorts, Revel, Taj, and Trop (at higher playing levels), also still have a few “full pay” VP machines..

It might be bresaola, but you need astronaut candidate blood pressure levels to survive much of that.

Boloney’s cheesesteak ole is good. Rship ~ maybe you had one on an off day, or with an unsuitable drink? Try one again . . . .;-)
