My boyfriend and I are travelling to Goa in November and would appreciate some advice from other travellers on where the best places are to stay. We're after a hotel which provides us with some luxury but we don't want to be in a remote location as we want to get out and about and experience Goa both during the day and the evening.

Has anyone got any tips for combining relaxation and luxury with a bit of real life Goa??

Thank you

How luxurious do you want it? The Holiday Inn is an excellent 4* hotel on Mobor Beach and is a 20 minute walk along the beach to Cavelossim which has a good selection of restaurants and shops. There are several beach shacks and a couple of restaurants within close proximity to the Holiday Inn and it's only 5 minutes by taxi into Cavelossim - taxis are cheap and plentiful. Alternatively you could look at the Leela Palace which is a 5* hotel about 5 minutes further down the beach from the Holiday Inn. I haven't stayed at the Leela but had a walk round the gardens and pool when we stayed at the Holiday Inn last year and they were beautiful.

The Marinha Dourada is a great 3* hotel at a reasonable price.

It located about 5min from Baga and 10mins from Calangute. There is a free daytime bus to Baga.

It is a very clean hotel for India without having to go to the 5* AI hotels.

There is a couple of great clubs in Baga. Titos and Mambos. I went to Mambos twice til 5am!!!

Have a look at the following pages for further info on the MD
