Candolim Forum: Bar Closures/Dry Days - Feb/Mar

will this effect me

im off 29th feb - 16th march

It will effect us all Joanne. Early closing 10PM when you get there and totally dry days 3rd.4th and 6th March. After the 6th it's back to normal I presume.

Yes I'm afraid so Joanne. We're going on 24th feb for 2 weeks and I'm not a happy chappy now. Just making enquiries into possibility of going out 2 weeks later. 5 or 6 dry days is bad enough but the fact all the restaurants & bars will close at 10pm is too much. My first time in Goa..could well be my last.

yorkie are you sure the 3rd March isn't included in the dry days as that's the day of the election!

There is a lot of confusion on here about when dry days are. I've just picked these dates up from other posts Iain. Just read on one post now the actual dry days have yet to be announced. We're coming home on 18th February (off in the morning) so the dry days shouldn't bother us but closing at 10 o'clock is going to be a pain. At least we'll have a few 11 o'clockers to ween us into it. If another post I've read about wholesalers closing in protest is correct , maybe hard getting drink to have in appartment too. Perhaps Goa is trying to kill tourism off?

We get about 3 dry days and hopefully "normal" restaurant hours should be sorted by our 4th day.....but I wait to fond out.

The wholesalers closing takes this farcical situation to another level if it happens!
