Planning a weekend in Austin with another couple. We want to go to a place to dance for 40ish yr olds so we don't look too out of place. We love funk and classic rock. Any suggestions would help us alot!

Part of what makes Austin great is that people of all ages go to all of shows! Look online at the Austin Chronicle at the club listings and see if anything strikes you.
There are lots of possibilities.
One is Donn's Depot on 5th.
Another thought is Broken Spoke.
One fun place you'll enjoy too is Pete's Dueling PIanos on 6th.
Don't hesitate to call the numbers you'll find in the Chronicle and see if it's your kind of music that night.
We'd love feedback on where you wind up going?
Welcome to Austin!
How about country western? Think about hitting the iconic Broken Spoke, if just for a look inside one of our favorite cultural institutions. I've seen silver-haired ladies sporting bouffants dancing the Texas Two-Step. The music is always danceable.
