We will have a sports team of 11 18yr old boys the week of 4th of july. Any good places to eat downtown that can take all of us?
Are you going for JOs? We will be there too, also in the same situation of trying to find dining options for our boys U15 team.
Sorry, no suggestions yet, but I'm starting to do research now. I'll keep you posted if we find anything. Also, I'm going to keep an eye on your thread to see if you get any tips.
Good luck and have fun!
Jayden again. I did a search on yelp.com for Austin. Plugged in "Texas BBQ for big groups near Austin's Convention Center." Here's a link to my search.
Maybe someone can give some insight into any of these places?

Yes we are there for the J.O'S and We are going to try the Iron works BBQ .
You might consider Threadgill's. They have an extensive menu, lots of choices for a group and they're accustomed to serving large tables. Easy to get to on Riverside Drive between Congress and 1st St. They do "home cooking" and your team should be easily satisfied.
Welcome to Austin
Iron Works is a great choice, often overlooked, but be forewarned it is counter service. But it can accommodate a crowd.
Just back from Austin. We ended up doing both IronWorks and Stubbs. IronWorks was very convenient to the Convention Center, which was the venue for the volleyball tournament. Lots of teams ended up eating there. The food was fabulous and it did accommodate the big crowds. Don't be put off by the line as it goes quickly.
Thanks for the feedback. Consider doing a sorely-needed Trip Report for Groups.
